Mirroring a national trend over the past decade, Boston's community banks have been disappearing and national banks have bought market share. This posed a threat to Eastern Bank, the largest independent, mutually owned bank in New England. As a result, Eastern needed a more distinctive brand presence that would counter the competition, help retain current customers and lure those disenfranchised by the national banks. We worked with them to develop a new long-term marketing position that captures the bank’s involvement in the lives of its customers and the community and provides unlimited brand promotion opportunities.
